Tiny Tums
Sunray is part of the Tiny Tums Programme Wales. Our menu follows the Eatwell Guide which is inspected and approved by a Tiny Tums dietician.
The Eatwell Guide sets a guideline for us to follow, ensuring that we provide a balanced and healthy diet for our children. This guideline is followed throughout the day, starting with a low sugar, low salt, high fibre breakfast. The same principles apply to all our meals including the a.m. and p.m. snacks.
All our meals, cakes, pancakes and biscuits are baked on site, enabling us to limit/reduce the amounts of sugar, fats and salt used.
Processed food is limited to twice a week, still ensuring that every meal has the correct amount of protein, found in fish, chicken, red meat (also important sources of iron and omega-3 fatty acids).
All meals are calculated using the correct amount of:
• Fresh fruit and vegetables. (Vitamins, minerals and fibre)
• Dairy products. (Protein and calcium)
• Variety of breads. (Fibre)
• Potatoes, pasta, rice, cous cous. (Carbohydrates)

Water and milk are the drinks offered to children during the course of the day.
I think Sunray is an outstanding environment for children. As a teacher, I know how hard education has been during this very difficult year and I am so grateful for all of you. I feel confident leaving my son in such a safe and stimulating learning environment.
